June 29, 2026 - The City of St. Petersburg is inviting residents and visitors to join in celebrating the nation's 250th anniversary during a "We Are St. Pete | America250" ceremonial flag raising.
City of St. Petersburg Mayor Kenneth T. Welch, City officials, and community members will gather at City Hall to raise the American flag and America250 flag.
Wednesday, July 1, at 9 a.m.

Remarks at the flag raising will be delivered by Mayor Kenneth T. Welch, Council Member Copley Gerdes (District 1), and representatives from the St. Pete Museum of History and Woodson African American Museum of Florida. The program will feature a presentation of flags, youth reciting the Pledge of Allegiance and singing the National Anthem, and special performances. Complimentary refreshments and light bites will be provided by Southern Grounds and Small Batch Creamery.
The City will host the sixth annual "The Fourth" Independence Day Celebration at the St. Pete Pier. This free, family-friendly event features live music, a craft beer garden, Uncle Sam's Market, a Family Fun Zone, food vendors, roaming entertainment, and more.

The day starts with the Orlando Health Bayfront Hospital St. Pete Pier Run, a four-mile walk/run with race waves starting at 6:15 a.m. and 7:45 a.m. Registration and fee required: https://stpeterunfest.org/.
