Updated guidance for submitting time for the Independence Day weekend holiday period

After a recent communication to campus, Boise State Human Resources (HR) received updated guidance from the State Division of Human Resources (DHR) regarding how all state agencies, including Boise State University, are required to process the additional leave days on July 2 and 6 for benefit-eligible employees.

Because of this change, the Boise State HR team has created an updated guide for submitting timecards during the Independence Day holiday period.

All hourly and salaried employees, as well as their supervisors, should review the updated guidance to ensure time cards are submitted correctly based on this new information.

As was communicated previously, the state will observe additional paid administrative leave dates on Thursday, July 2, 2026 and Monday, July 6, 2026, in addition to the state-observed Independence Day holiday on Friday, July 3, 2026.

Based on DHR guidance, employees may no longer use the "holiday worked" earning code on July 2 and July 6, 2026. As a result, many employees will need to adjust their time cards, even if adjustments were already made earlier this week. We appreciate employees' flexibility as campus implements the state's updated guidance regarding the additional days of leave during the Independence Day holiday period.
