RESTON, Va. - Conservation leader and campaign strategist Tara Losoff will serve as the National Wildlife Federation's next vice president of power building. In this important role she will lead the organization's nationwide campaigns and partnerships that champion wildlife and inspire people to protect clean air and water, address environmental injustices, and confront the climate crisis.
"The most important way to achieve durable victories for wildlife and people is to build a grassroots movement that will carry our work forward for generations to come. Tara has been a leading advocate for building bridges and rallying people across generations and geographies to recover wildlife, support climate solutions, and confront long-standing environmental injustices," said Karla Raettig, chief advocacy officer at the National Wildlife Federation. "We are honored to welcome Tara to this new role and to support her work to expand the conservation movement."
"Through my 25-year career, I have worked to bring people together and grow the conservation movement across communities and organizations," Losoff said. "I am excited to continue this foundational work at this critical moment for wildlife and people. I am committed to working alongside affiliates and partners to strengthen the relationships and shared capacity needed for our work to be more inclusive, powerful, and enduring."
Losoff has led efforts to protect wildlife and habitat, address the climate crisis, advance environmental justice, and defend sacred Tribal and Indigenous sites and sovereignty for more than 13 years at the National Wildlife Federation. NWF's Board of Directors and its 52 state and territorial affiliates honored her in 2024 with the Charlie Shaw Conservation Partnerships Award.
Before joining NWF, Losoff held leadership roles at The Pew Charitable Trusts and the National Environmental Trust where she worked on marine conservation, clean energy, international biodiversity, and public health. She holds an MBA and a BA in Interactive Arts and Media.
