CHIPOTLE EXPANDS ATHLETE CARD PROGRAM TO MORE THAN 2,300 COLLEGE ATHLETES

  • Florida State joins The Ohio State University, University of Florida and University of Georgia as the fourth athletic department in Chipotle's growing Athlete Card program

NEWPORT BEACH, Calif., November 2, 2026 - Chipotle Mexican Grill (NYSE: CMG) today announced it is expanding its Athlete Card program to Florida State (FSU) for the 2026-27 school year. Every varsity athlete at FSU will receive a customized card that grants one free entrée per week for 15 weeks during their respective athletic seasons. The expansion builds on Chipotle's existing partnerships with The Ohio State University (OSU), University of Florida (UF) and University of Georgia (UGA) and reinforces the company's commitment to making real food more accessible to student athletes.

More than 2,300 student athletes across the four universities will receive Athlete Cards in 2026-27: approximately 470 at FSU, 480 at UF, 500 at UGA and 860 at OSU. Nearly 1,100 athletes will participate for the first time.

"Athletes have made Chipotle a training staple because our real ingredients, high-protein options and customizable menu allow them to build meals around their individual goals - all without artificial colors, flavors or preservatives," said Stephanie Perdue, Senior Vice President of Brand Marketing at Chipotle. "Adding FSU marks the next step in the evolution of our Athlete Card program and extends its reach to another leading athletic department."

Partnering with Elite Athletic Programs
Chipotle's Athlete Card partners include athletic departments with broad success across varsity sports. From the 2024-25 season to the 2025-26 season:1

  • At the University of Florida, 15 of 21 teams (71%) improved or maintained their national rankings.
  • At the University of Georgia, 16 of 21 teams (76%) improved or maintained their national rankings.
  • At Ohio State, teams collectively improved their national rankings by an average of more than four spots.

These rankings highlight the breadth of athletic success across the departments participating in the program.

Cultivating the Next Generation of Agriculture
Chipotle's relationships with several university partners extend beyond athletics. While the Athlete Card program helps increase access to real food for student athletes today, the Chipotle Cultivate Foundation is also investing in the next generation of agriculture and food-system leaders:

  • The Ohio State University: The Chipotle Cultivate Foundation recently established the Chipotle Cultivate Agricultural Technical Institute (ATI) Scholarship Fund, providing partial scholarships to 10 students enrolled at Ohio State ATI, located on the College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences (CFAES) campus in Wooster. The program builds on a four-year scholarship introduced in 2024 that covers the full cost of attendance for an in-state student pursuing agriculture-related studies through CFAES.
  • University of Georgia: The Foundation funded five scholarships for in-state students enrolled in the College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences for the 2026-27 school year, recognizing academic achievement, leadership and commitment to their communities.
  • University of Florida: During the 2025-26 academic year, the Foundation supported undergraduate research awards through the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences focused on agriculture and food systems, with plans for the 2027 partnership to be announced soon.

Together, these initiatives reflect Chipotle's commitment to creating opportunities for student athletes today while investing in the future of agriculture.
