FirstHealth Partners with Undue Medical to Eliminate Medical Debt

PINEHURST, N.C.- FirstHealth of the Carolinas and the national nonprofit Undue Medical Debt have partnered to help eliminate past-due hospital medical debt for qualifying patients. Eligible patients will receive debt relief letters in the mail over the coming weeks.

  • Eligible patients do not need to apply, and there is no application process.
  • Patients who qualify for this debt relief will receive a branded letter from Undue Medical Debt indicating which past-due hospital debt or debts have been eliminated.

Undue Medical Debt works with hospital systems and other providers across the country to relieve past due medical debt belonging to those least able to pay and erases the debt.

Community members do not need to take any action, as the eligible hospital medical debt will automatically be eliminated for those who qualify.

This partnership is in alignment with FirstHealth's commitment to helping people with medical debt through the North Carolina Medical Debt Mitigation Program. FirstHealth is committed to working with patients to ensure full access to services provided by FirstHealth and provide resources and assistance to help patients navigate financial requirements.
