Boise State continues its search for the next provost and vice president for academic affairs

In spring 2026 the university hosted a series of forums and an open survey that gave members of the Boise State community opportunities to help identify the qualifications and attributes they would like to see in the university's next provost. Now, a search committee representing a cross section of stakeholders has been formed and is listed on the executive search webpage.

"Selecting our next provost is an important decision for Boise State and we are grateful to everyone who shared their perspectives during the spring forums," said Nancy Glenn, vice president for research and economic development and search committee co-chair. "Their input is helping shape our understanding of the qualities and experience Boise State needs in its next academic leader."

WittKieffer, an executive search firm, will lead the national recruitment effort in partnership with the search committee and Human Resources. The provost position profile is linked on the executive search page and the campus community is invited to submit nominations to [email protected].

"We hope faculty, staff, students and others across the university will continue to participate in the process," said Erik Hadley, assistant teaching professor of history, past faculty senate president and search committee co-chair. "The perspectives and nominations we receive helps to strengthen the search."

Final candidates will participate in on-campus interviews, anticipated for late fall 2026. Additional information about candidate visits and opportunities for campus participation will be announced as the search progresses.
