Portland, OR - A new report by OPB reveals that 126,000 fewer Oregonians have access to food stamps than at the same time last year thanks to Donald Trump's extreme cuts to SNAP.
As the Trump administration's far-right agenda continues to make life less affordable for Oregonians, Christine Drazan has remained silent as Republicans in Washington slash food assistance. She even voted against legislation aimed at protecting Oregonians from the worst of these cuts.
While Drazan has continued to hide from accountability for her party's disastrous policies, Governor Tina Kotek fought back by declaring a hunger emergency after Trump illegally froze SNAP funding to Oregon.
"Fighting back against the Trump administration's cuts to food assistance takes real courage. Oregonians deserve a leader who will fight for them, not run from tough questions about her party's unpopular policies," said Democratic Party of Oregon Chair Nathan Soltz. "Christine Drazan continues to dodge questions about whether she supports Trump's Big Ugly Bill. Oregonians need a leader willing to stand up and fight for them. Drazan has made it clear that won't be her."
