In March 2026, nine student members of Boise State's Business Professionals of America (BPA) chapter achieved eleven first place finishes and nine additional top five finishes in competitive events at the Idaho State Leadership Conference.

During the conference, more than 2,000 students, advisors and industry partners from across Idaho gathered for three days to showcase their skills in competitive events, attend workshops and elect state officers. The competitions centered around Workplace Skills Assessment Program events, covering topics like business, finance, information technology and leadership.

Because of their impressive performance, the nine Boise State students (Ana Alvarez, Lily Ferrin, Lucas Fleege, Jessica Garcia, Jeni Hammond, Sager Lynch, Tabitha Rager, Megan Rogers and Chloe McAdams) all qualified for the Business Professionals of America National Leadership Conference in Nashville, Tenn., in May of this year.

"Our continued success at the state competition showcases our chapter's reputation for national-level excellence," said Alex Ritzman, BPA faculty advisor and lecturer in management. "Year after year, our members demonstrate the resilience and dedication required to compete at the highest level, all while representing Boise State University and the College of Business and Economics."
