Frisco Police Investigate Aggravated Assault, Suspect Arrested
(August 18, 2025) The Frisco Police Department has taken a suspect into custody after investigating an aggravated assault that occurred at the end of July.
On Monday, July 28, 2025, at approximately 10:50 p.m., Frisco police officers were dispatched to a report of shots fired in the 6500 block of Scottsdale Way. The reporting party advised Frisco Dispatch that he had shot at someone who tried to kick in his door.
During their initial investigation, officers found that the suspect, 58-year-old Damon Wolfe of Frisco, had exited his residence in response to a loud bang on his door. He then entered the street and fired multiple rounds at a passing vehicle, as he believed the occupants to be involved.
Later that same night, officers responded to the 12300 block of Hawk Creek Drive in reference to a vehicle being shot at. Upon speaking with the driver and two occupants, all described their vehicle being shot at while northbound on Legacy. However, during subsequent interviews, all admitted to ding, dong, ditching in a random neighborhood when they were confronted by a male with a firearm. As they drove from the location, they advised that the subject fired shots at their vehicle. Officers then observed what appeared to be three bullet holes in the vehicle. The vehicle was processed by the Frisco CSI team, and Frisco Detectives canvassed the neighborhood for damage and any cameras that captured the incident.
Based on information gathered during the initial investigation, Frisco Detectives believed probable cause existed that Wolfe had committed Aggravated Assault against the three victims and sought three warrants for his arrest (one for each occupant). A judge signed the warrants, and Wolfe was subsequently taken into custody at the Frisco Police Department on August 7, 2025. The offense in this case is a 2nd degree Felony and carries a punishment of 2 to 20 years in prison and a fine of up to $10,000.
"Parents please talk to your kids about the dangers of participating in these types of Tik Tok challenges," said Frisco Police Chief David Shilson. "The teens involved in this case are very fortunate they were not shot and killed or seriously injured. For homeowners, it is important to understand that there are legal and criminal consequences for running outside and shooting at a vehicle fleeing the scene. The bullets fired in this offense could have easily struck neighbors' houses and had deadly consequences. This entire incident is completely senseless and avoidable had better decisions been made by all involved."
There is no threat to the public, and this remains an active and ongoing investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Frisco Police Department's non-emergency number (972-292-6010) or submit a tip using Tip411 (text FRISCOPD + the tip to 847411).
No further information will be released at this time.
