On March 16-17, 2026, in Minsk, in accordance with the provisions of the Treaty between the Republic of Belarus and the Russian Federation on Security Guarantees within the Union State, the second meeting of the Parties' special representatives was held. The delegations were led by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, Igor Sekreta, and the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Alexander Grushko.

The Parties conducted a substantive review of the security situation at the borders of the Union State amidst the ongoing militarization of EU and NATO member states. They discussed practical aspects of implementing the Union State Security Concept in the context of the Treaty on Security Guarantees and exchanged views on countering illegal restrictive measures of an economic and financial nature.
