Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Yiannis Loverdos’ courtesy meeting with the Minister of Culture of Uzbekistan, Ozodbek Nazarbekov (15.07.2026)
Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Yiannis Loverdos held a courtesy meeting on July 15 with the Minister of Culture of Uzbekistan Ozodbek Nazarbekov, during the latter's visit to Athens. The meeting was attended by the Secretary General for Greeks Abroad and Public Diplomacy, Maira Myrogianni, and the Ambassador of Greece to Uzbekistan, Paraskevi Tzeveleki.
The Deputy Minister highlighted the excellent level of bilateral relations and the historical cultural ties between the two countries, making special reference to the UNESCO General Conference held in November 2025 in Samarkand, Uzbekistan, during which February 9 was proclaimed World Greek Language Day.
