Latest update on the global IT security breach: Kiel University back online
Following reports of a global security vulnerability, the Kiel University took all its online services, such as the university website, offline on Wednesday as a precautionary measure. Updates in the form of 'patches' have since been installed in many areas, resolving the issue in web services using the 'PHP' programming language. The University's data centre and the decentralised administrators are working flat out to close the security breach across all areas and restore services.
