PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk, or BNI, has reaffirmed its commitment to promoting national sporting achievements on the global stage. Through its participation in the Amman Men's World Tennis Championship 2025, BNI not only supports the development of Indonesian tennis but also strengthens its position as a world-class, adaptive and relevant bank.
This international tennis championship event will be held at the Bali Beach Country Club Tennis Court, ITDC, Nusa Dua, Bali, from July 21 to September 8, 2025. This year marks the third year that BNI has supported this prestigious tournament, which is present on a larger scale with a total of seven match series - consisting of two UTR Pro Tennis Tour (UTR PTT) series and five ITF World Tennis Tour (ITF WTT) series in the M15 and M25 categories.
BNI Corporate Secretary Okki Rushartomo explained that support for this championship is part of the spirit of 'Accompanying Your Every Step' carried by BNI, in line with the company's vision of becoming a bank that is competitive at the global level.
"By participating in the Amman Men's World Tennis Championship 2025, we want to grow closer to the international sports community while strengthening BNI's image as a financial institution that actively supports the advancement of sports," Okki said in an official statement.
The tournament featured players from over 50 countries, including the United States, England, Russia, Spain, Japan, and New Zealand. Several top Indonesian players, such as M. Rifqi Fitriadi, Nathan Barki, and Anthony Susanto, competed alongside world-class players like Arthur Gea (ATP ranking 286), Moerani Bouzigue (ATP ranking 336), Hiroki Moriya (ATP ranking 369), and Matthew Dellavedova (ATP ranking 418).
BNI's participation in this tournament is part of its ongoing commitment to supporting international-level sports tournaments that are regularly held in Indonesia.
More than just supporting sports, BNI's presence at this event also represents the company's contribution to advancing the sports tourism sector. This international event is expected to boost international tourist visits to Bali and strengthen Indonesia's image as a world-class tourism destination.
Not only that, BNI also capitalizes on this momentum to introduce the outstanding wondr multicurrency feature, which allows customers to save, exchange, and transact in 12 foreign currencies across more than 32 countries. This feature is designed to provide convenience for travelers and global businesspeople, with the advantage of automatic adjustment to local currencies without administrative fees for foreign currency accounts.
Since its launch in July 2024, the wondr by BNI app has recorded rapid growth, with the number of users increasing from 1 million to 8.6 million by June 2025. The transaction value also surged 16 times, reaching IDR649 trillion from a total of 702 million transactions.
"Through support for sports, tourism, and digital innovation such as wondr by BNI, BNI continues to prove its commitment as a global-class bank that is adaptive, relevant, and ready to accompany every step of its customers in facing the times," concluded Okki.
