Fourth Shipment of Humanitarian Aid from Mexico Arrives in Cuba

In keeping with Mexico's tradition of solidarity with the peoples of Latin America, and in fulfillment of President Claudia Sheinbaum's instructions, the Ministry of the Navy reports the arrival in Cuba of a new shipment of humanitarian aid aboard a Mexican Navy vessel.

The logistics support vessel Huasteco, which departed from the port of Veracruz, arrived in Cuba on Friday morning carrying more than 96 tons of humanitarian aid consisting of various food staples, primarily beans and rice.

With this fourth shipment, the total amount of humanitarian aid sent to the Cuban people now stands at 3,125 tons. This aid was provided by the Mexican government, with the participation of the governments of Mexico City and Puebla, as well as various civil society organizations.

The Mexican people have always provided assistance to sister nations in need. In recent months, Mexico has sent aid to various countries that have called on its support, including responses to wildfires in California and Chile, flooding in Texas, and natural disasters in several nations of the continent.
