Deputy Director-General of International Organizations Department delivers opening remarks at the SDGs Youth Forum 2025

On 8 November 2025, Ms. Cataleya Phatoomros, Deputy Director-General of the Department of International Organizations delivered the Opening Remarks at the SDGs Youth Forum 2025. The event was co-organised by the Department of International Organizations, together with the Department of Children and Youth, Ministry of Social Development and Human Security, and UNICEF Thailand during 8 - 9 November 2025.

The Deputy Director-General emphasized the role of the Ministry in promoting youth participation in UN forums and the importance of youth in driving SDG implementation together with various stakeholders to achieve meaningful change. A key deliverable of the Forum is the Youth Pact, outlining the priorities and vision of youth on SDG attainment. The Ministry will gather inputs from the Youth Pact in the drafting of Thailand's next informal Voluntary National Review on the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, which will focus on youth.

The event was organised to enhance knowledge and understanding of the SDGs among youth, as well as to provide a platform for youth to exchange views and present their vision on sustainable development and the SDGs. The event was attended by over 50 youth representatives from youth networks across Thailand. The Forum was also honoured to have Emeritus Professor Vitit Muntarbhorn deliver a keynote speech on the role of youth in driving the SDGs.
