On September 2, 2025, Vice Foreign Minister and concurrently Vice President of the Red Cross Society of China Miao Deyu met with visiting President of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) Kate Forbes.
Miao Deyu stated that the current international humanitarian situation is unprecedentedly severe. China is an active supporter, participant, and contributor in international humanitarian cause. China attaches great importance to exchanges and cooperation with international humanitarian organizations, including the IFRC, to inject positive energy and stability into a changing and turbulent world, and to continuously promote the building of a community with a shared future for mankind.
Kate Forbes stated that China actively participates in global humanitarian actions, providing various types of assistance to countries and regions in need, making significant contributions and setting an international example. In the face of increasingly severe humanitarian challenges, the IFRC hopes to strengthen dialogue and cooperation with China to jointly address humanitarian issues and contribute to the common well-being of humanity.
