On a potential government shutdown:

"You know, absolutely. And I want to draw everyone's attention to our working families tax cuts bill that we passed this summer, $150 billion of funding for ice so the Democrats have taken a hostage here that's already been set free. The Democrats need to understand that if they're going to say, look, we're going to shut down the government again, the Democrats are going to shut down the government again. They're doing that because they want to promote crime - that they're against law and order. So, I don't think that's going to fly at all. But to your point, we're going to pass these three buckets of funding today. We've already passed three, so it would be a limited government shutdown, but I think that most of the level headed Democrats realize that nobody wins during a government shutdown."

On Schumer's political life:

"Schumer is running for his political life. He's being attacked from his left. A liberal democrat from New York is being attacked from his political left. He's not radical enough. Look, my focus is the economy right now and bringing down the cost of living. President Trump is talking about that. He's going to announce major health care package here on Friday. He's working on housing. We're working together on credit cards, bringing down interest rates, bringing down the cost every time you use that swipe fee. We're focused on that. The elections will take care of themselves. I believe that if we have a strong economy, that if we're bringing down the cost of living, we're going to be in good shape come November."

On the Hyde Amendment:

"Yeah, the Hyde Amendment is the law of the land that federal dollars shall not be spent on abortions. And by the way, a big shout-out to all the people coming out here on the March for Life next week as well. Like I said, it's the law of the land but, but I think the point here is this, look, if Bernie Marino and Susan Collins can't come to a compromise position with the Democrats on health care, I don't know who can. I've tried, and I'm going to keep trying. But regardless, there's things with the Democrats that we do agree upon. We agree upon our price tags bill, our transparency bill, that if we force all health care providers to show you the true cost of what you're going to have done up front, you need an MRI, you need a CAT scan, you need your knee fixed, if we show those prices up front, then we turn patients into consumers again, when we turn them into consumers that are going to shop our bill will save American families $1,000 a month on health insurance, regardless of whether you're on Obamacare, you get your insurance through your work or you're on Medicare. So, there are a few things we agree on. Let's get those across the finish line. Meanwhile, we probably need to turn to reconciliation to get some real work done on health care."

On the Credit Card Competition Act:

"Yeah, so President Trump, ourselves, the Republicans, we are focused on bringing down the cost of living. Our Credit Card Competition Act would save Americans 1-2% on gas and groceries right now, two credit card companies wear hand in glove with a handful of Wall Street banks. They control 80% of the industry. Because of that, Americans are paying seven more times more every time they use their credit card, every time they swipe that credit card, we're paying seven times more than folks in the European Union are because of that monopoly we're talking about. Credit card companies are charging families 20 to 30% interest, so President Trump wants to cap that at 10% for one year, and then we want to bring to bring down that cost of swipe fees by introducing competition, forcing banks to introduce one more opportunity, one more network that's going to we want to introduce competition. We're not doing price caps, but this will say. Hard-working American families, 1-2% every time they buy gas or they buy groceries, it all starts to add up."
