Dakota State University's online PhD cybersecurity programs have been named the No. 1 most affordable in Cybersecurity Guide's 2026 rankings. This marks the third consecutive year that DSU has been recognized by the organization.
In total, DSU garnered attention from Cybersecurity Guide as:
"Dakota State University continues to demonstrate national leadership in cybersecurity education," said Dr. Rebecca Hoey, Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic and Student Affairs. "These rankings highlight the strength of our programs, the dedication of our faculty, and our commitment to providing high-quality, affordable degrees for students preparing to meet today's critical cyber workforce needs."
The Best Overall rankings are based on data from the National Center for Education Statistics (IPEDS and College Navigator), along with tuition and credit information from university websites. Cybersecurity Guide assesses a variety of factors, including:
DSU's cybersecurity programs are housed within The Beacom College of Computer & Cyber Sciences, which provides advanced training in technology, from software development and artificial intelligence to cybersecurity and data protection. DSU, one of only nine institutions nationwide to hold all three NSA CAE designations, combines the latest technical training with essential skills, preparing graduates for careers that evolve with the industry.
