Dear UAA Staff,
At the September University of Alaska (UA) Board of Regents (BOR) meeting, the Tuition Transparency model was introduced.
Beginning in fall 2027, the UA System plans to simplify tuition by moving to a program-based model, so students can gain a clearer, more predictable cost based on their major from the start of their journey. The goal is to make tuition easier to understand and reduce surprises as students progress through their programs. It will also help more costs qualify for scholarships and financial aid. Additionally, tuition will be the same for resident and non-resident students. Learn more about the model on UA System's Tuition Transparency site.
Please join us for an important conversation this Thursday, Oct. 8 at 3 p.m. Your feedback is important and will be presented to BOR before they make their final decision. This is your opportunity to ask questions and share thoughts on how this impacts our students and programs.
