AHN LifeFlight and Critical Care Ground Providers to Participate in Training Today at New LifeFlight Simulation Lab at AHN Suburban

Bellevue, Pa. - Allegheny Health Network (AHN) Prehospital Care invites members of the media to observe an advanced simulation-based training session led by AHN LifeFlight and Critical Care Ground Transport teams at the new LifeFlight Simulation Lab at AHN Suburban.

The session will include approximately 15 critical care providers participating in realistic pediatric and obstetric emergency scenarios using equipment purchased through a grant recently given to AHN Wexford Hospital by the Highmark Foundation in support of local Emergency Medical Services (EMS) agencies located in Allegheny, Beaver and Butler counties. This training highlights the continued impact of the grant in strengthening prehospital education and emergency readiness across communities north of Pittsburgh.

The AHN LifeFlight SIM lab opened in December 2025 and is designed to closely replicate real-world critical care environments. The space includes hands-on skills areas, a mock intensive care unit and access to classroom and lecture space, allowing providers to practice complex scenarios in a controlled, team-based setting.

AHN Suburban has served the community in a variety of capacities for more than 115 years. Formerly known as AGH Suburban Hospital, and before that Bellevue General Hospital, the nearly 230,000-square-foot facility has experienced significant transformation and revitalization since closing its inpatient units and emergency departments in 2010. Today, AHN Suburban serves as a dynamic hub for care delivery, research, business incubation, education, and social opportunity.
