WILMINGTON - Wilmington Black Restaurant Week (WBRW) will return Sunday, September 28 through Sunday, October 5, 2025. This week-long event celebrates the city's African, African American, Afro-Latino, and Afro-Caribbean cuisines and culminates in a community event at The Queen.
Led by Wilmington City Council, and in collaboration with Mayor John Carney's Office of Economic Development and Office of Cultural Affairs, WBRW highlights Wilmington's cultural and culinary industry for city residents and visitors.
"Wilmington Black Restaurant Week is a celebration of the talent and culture that Black restaurant owners bring to the city," said Mayor John Carney. "These businesses play an important role in driving economic development and strengthening our community. I encourage everyone to dine locally and support Black-owned restaurants during WBRW and beyond."
The week will feature a free Black Food Festival on Sunday, October 5 at The Queen featuring:
A celebrity chef appearance (to be announced)
Community Culinary Conversations
A student cook-off
Music from a live DJ
Complimentary food & drink tastings from participating vendors
A livestream of the Eagles vs. Broncos game during the event.
Wilmington City Council has announced the New Castle County Chamber of Commerce as an official sponsor of the Student Cook-Off Competition. Additional partners and featured restaurants will be announced in the coming weeks.
