GCSU accepting proposals for faculty-led Education Abroad Programs for 2027-28

The Georgia College & State University International Education Center invites members of the faculty to offer proposals for faculty-led Education Abroad programs that advance the university's mission of preparing students for leadership, citizenship and service to the public good.

Education Abroad at Georgia College is not simply an extension of the classroom; it is a formative experience that challenges students to engage complex global realities, deepen their intellectual commitments and cultivate the habits of mind and character required for thoughtful leadership in a changing world.

We seek proposals that combine academic rigor, intentional program design and meaningful engagement with place, and that position students to reflect on their roles as contributors to the public good in both global and local contexts.

This call invites proposals for faculty-led programs scheduled to take place between summer 2027 and spring 2028. The university is particularly interested in proposals for innovative short-term programs, including those offered outside the traditional summer term, that broaden student access and diversify program offerings.

The Committee on International Education will review all proposals and offer recommendations for approval to the International Education Center and the Office of Academic Affairs.

Full-time members of the faculty are eligible to offer proposals for faculty-led Education Abroad programs. Please note that adjunct instructors, part-time instructors and non-instructional staff cannot serve as faculty program directors on Education Abroad programs. Faculty program directors must meet SACSCOC credentialing and accreditation requirements necessary for instructional responsibilities.

Proposals should be submitted online and must be received by the International Education Center by Friday, 1 May 2026, at 11:59 p.m.
