Shooter Arrested for Wounding Man in Madison Park Sunday Night

Specialized Investigations Division TITANS detectives Tuesday night arrested Keith Abercrombie, 27, in connection with Sunday night's wounding of a 19-year-old man at Madison Park on N. Dupont Avenue. Abercrombie is charged with attempted criminal homicide, felony reckless endangerment, use of a gun in the commission of a dangerous felony, aggravated burglary and assault. He is jailed today in lieu of $647,000 bond.

Abercrombie was taken into custody as he exited an apartment on Forrest Park Road. A nine-millimeter pistol loaded with 18 rounds was recovered during the execution of a search warrant.

The investigation shows that the victim was at the park to participate in pickup basketball games. Abercrombie and two others arrived and wanted to play full-court verses half-court. An argument ensured between the victim and Abercrombie. Abercrombie fired approximately 18 rounds toward the victim. The victim also had a gun and fired at least once. The victim was critically wounded and is being treated at Vanderbilt.

In an unrelated matter, Abercrombie is also charged with shooting multiple rounds in the parking lot of the Madison apartment complex on September 24th. He is then alleged to have forced his way into the residence of an apartment complex employee to demand that the employee delete the surveillance video of the gunfire.
