Free Training for Local Landscape Professionals

With a goal of certifying 100 Napa County landscape professionals by 2030, City of Napa Water is once again partnering with the California Water Efficiency Partnership (CalWEP) to offer FREE Qualified Water Efficient Landscaper (QWEL)Training in early 2026. While learning the best ways to save water and money for their clients or employer, local landscape and irrigation specialists can earn a professional certification from this EPA WaterSense award-winning program. Classes will be conducted in English at Napa Valley College's Community Room on three consecutive Tuesdays starting Jan. 20, followed by a certification exam on Feb. 10. Space is limited, so be sure to register by January 13.

The program is open to all professionals conducting work in Napa County, including gardeners, landscape contractors, irrigation technicians, park and public agency maintenance staff, and landscape architects and designers. Topics covered include sustainable landscape design, soil health, plant water needs, irrigation system audits, troubleshooting, and maintenance, irrigation scheduling, and controller programming. Property owners: Please encourage your landscape maintenance contractor to take advantage of this amazing opportunity.
