GREENSBORO, NC (April 22, 2026) - Greensboro Police arrested a 22-year-old man early Wednesday on multiple charges that include driving while impaired and assault on medical staff.
Officers encountered a black Jeep spinning tires and doing "donuts" on North Elm Street near West Fisher Street at approximately 12:40 a.m. when the Jeep nearly struck a patrol car. Officers attempted a traffic stop and a vehicle pursuit was initiated on suspicion of impaired driving.
Tanner James Crowder ran off the road on Huffman Street and into a utility pole support wire. He was taken into custody and charged with driving while impaired, open container alcohol, felony speed to elude arrest, careless and reckless driving, failure to maintain lane control, driving left of center, failure to yield to an emergency vehicle, failure to stop for steady red light, and assault on medical staff.
Online records show he was given a $5,000 unsecured bond, which has been posted, according to information available via Guilford County eCourts.
