The Senate Banking Committee approved John Crews' nomination to the NCUA Board last week, clearing the way for a full Senate vote expected this week.
President Donald Trump nominated Crews to a term ending August 2, 2031. He currently serves as deputy assistant secretary for financial institutions policy at the U.S. Department of the Treasury and previously held senior policy roles with the Senate Banking Committee and House leadership.
If confirmed, Crews would succeed NCUA Chairman Kyle Hauptman whose board term expired in August 2025. Hauptman has continued serving until a successor is confirmed.
