Families in Middleton can now access pediatric and women's specialty care close to home with opening of new clinic

MIDDLETON, Fla., Oct. 29, 2026 - Families in Middleton now have more of the healthcare they need right in their neighborhood with the opening of a new AdventHealth location dedicated to women and children.

The new AdventHealth Middleton Multispecialty Clinic brings pediatric primary care, cardiology and orthopedics together with specialized women's health services, including urogynecology, all in one location. The new interconnected clinic has 24 treatment rooms and a pediatric X-ray room and spaces for children's heart screenings.

For local mom Jenny Trew, the clinic is a gamechanger. Trew and her family were the first family to move to Middleton. For her 13-year-old twin sons, Jasen and Jackson, she's been driving nearly an hour to Clermont to see their pediatrician.

"Going to the pediatrician usually means pulling both boys out of school, taking time away from work and making a day out of something that should be pretty simple," Trew said. "Work, school, sports and social activities in our wonderful neighborhood keep us very busy, requiring us to be in many places at one time! I'm not sure how us parents make it happen! But having a pediatrician right here in Middleton is going to make life a lot easier."

Middleton, a master-planned community located along Central Parkway, is home to 1,200 families and households, many of whom work in and around The Villages. They play an important role in supporting the region's large retirement community, and their families have healthcare needs of their own, including convenient access to care for children and women.

"Parents don't want to take their child to just any doctor. They want someone they can trust, right around the corner. Because when your child is sick or injured, an hour-long drive can feel even farther," said Dr. Vanessa Carroll, chief medical officer of AdventHealth for Children. "But now, families have trusted care close to home, giving them greater peace of mind that the care they need is nearby."

For those needing women's health services, the new location means specialized care is nearby, too. The clinic will offer urogynecology services, including personalized care for urinary incontinence and pelvic floor conditions, giving women a local option for care that can improve their comfort, health and quality of life.

"Women spend so much of their lives caring for others, and it can become very easy to put their own health last," said Kristen Toth, vice president of AdventHealth for Women. "We want women to know there is care here for them, too. Our privilege is to walk alongside women through every stage of life, listening to what matters to them and helping them feel supported, confident and whole. We are excited to call Middleton home and even more excited to call these families our neighbors."

The new clinic brings AdventHealth for Children and AdventHealth for Women together in one location, supporting families through different stages of life through AdventHealth's nationally recognized women's and children's care networks.

Middleton is home to early childhood centers, two K-8 schools and a high school that altogether enroll more than 3,000 students. For children, having quality healthcare nearby can help set the stage for so much more. Healthy kids are better engaged at school, do the activities they love, spend time with friends and keep discovering what their future can hold. It is all part of helping children grow up healthy and ready to chase the possibilities ahead of them.

LeAnne Yerk, principal of The Villages Charter Elementary School, sees that connection between health and learning every day.

"As educators, we see firsthand that a child's ability to learn, grow and thrive in the classroom is deeply connected to their health and well-being," Yerk said. "When a child feels healthy, safe and supported, they come to school ready to focus, discover and build bright futures. Having high-quality pediatric care right here in our neighborhood - just moments away from our school doors - is a true game-changer for our students and families. Close pediatric care creates a seamless safety net where healthcare providers and educators work hand in hand to support the whole child -body, mind and spirit."
