The War And Treaty Earns 3rd Consecutive CMA Nomination For 'Duo Of The Year'
Fall Tour Kicks Off October 16
MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 22 (NEW YORK, NY) - On Saturday, GRAMMY-nominated duo The War And Treaty delivered a powerful performance of "God Bless America" during WWE's Wrestlepalooza, which aired live on ESPN from Indianapolis.
The evening featured a historic moment as The War And Treaty became the first act ever to perform "God Bless America" in place of WWE's traditional opening, "America the Beautiful." Their stirring performance set the tone for one of WWE's most monumental nights, which also included the return of Brock Lesnar, John Cena's farewell tour, and the first-ever mixed tag team "couple's match" between Seth Rollins & Becky Lynch and CM Punk & AJ Lee, marking AJ Lee's return to WWE.
The performance follows the husband-and-wife duo's recent CMA nomination for 'Duo of the Year' - their third consecutive nod in the category. Next month, The War And Treaty will be back on the road for a 15-city headlining tour with stops at Knuckleheads Saloon inKansas City, MO, the Neighborhood Theatre in Charlotte, NC, andThe Barns at Wolf Trap in Vienna, VA, and more. Since first lighting up the world with their fusion of country and soul, The War And Treaty have steadily built a legacy as one of the most iconic husband-and-wife duos in music history. In the last few years alone, Michael Trotter Jr. and Tanya Trotter's phenomenal talent and daring originality have led to major milestones including their 2024 GRAMMY nominations for Best New Artist and Best American Roots Song. In addition to the GRAMMYs, the duo has received nominations from the CMT Music Awards, Americana Honors & Awards, and the People's Choice Country Awards, and have taken home the Duo/Group of the Year prize at the Americana Music Honors & Awards two years in a row.
