House sales up in most EU countries in 2025

In 2025, house sales in the EU increased in most countries for which data are available, compared with 2024.

The number of transacted dwellings decreased in 3 out of the 18 EU countries covered by the available data. Decreases were observed in Croatia (-4.1%), Bulgaria (-2.5%) and Poland (-1.1%). The largest increases were recorded in Slovenia (+29.9%), Lithuania (+22.8%) and Austria (+21.4%).

In 2024, when compared with 2023, the number of transacted dwellings decreased in 6 countries and increased in 12 countries.

The largest decreases in the number of transactions in 2024 were observed in Slovenia (-17.7%), Croatia (-13.9%) and France (-9.4%). The largest increases were registered in Luxembourg (+47.1%), Hungary (+34.8%) and the Netherlands (+17.0%).
