Board of Trustees Meeting Summary for June 11

June 12, 2026

On Thursday, June 11 the Western Washington University Board of Trustees met for its regular business meeting. The Board presented a Resolution to Trustee Ashlynn Tibbot, who is completing her one-year term as a Student Trustee. The Board also recognized the Division II National Champion Women's Rowing Team. The Cybersecurity Team and Mean's Rugby Team were also acknowledged for their successes.

The Board reviewed and approved the 2027-2029 capital budget request and the 10-year capital plan. The 2026-2027 state operating budget was also approved. The Board approved the 2026-2027 athletics budget along with a multi-year budget plan to ensure long-term sustainable operation. The 2026-2027 Students & Activities Fee allocation recommendation was discussed and approved. The Board approved the 2026-2027 self-sustaining tuition rates and 2027 summer tuition rates. Increases aligned with the state approved tuition rate for 2026-27. Board of Trustees officers, Chair Faith Pettis and Vice Chair Chris Witherspoon, were reelected to a one-year term ending June 30, 2027. The Board proudly approved the degrees earned during spring quarter and offered congratulations to all of the graduates. The Board met in executive session prior to adjourning
