Smucker Votes to Pass the SAVE America Act
WASHINGTON - Rep. Lloyd Smucker (PA-11) voted to pass S. 1383, the SAVE America Act, legislation aimed at strengthening the integrity of our nation's election process by requiring proof of U.S. citizenship and valid identification to cast a ballot.
"Ensuring our elections are safe and secure is critical to our functioning democracy," said Rep. Smucker. "The SAVE America Act requires voters to provide proof of citizenship and present a valid ID to cast their ballot. An overwhelming majority of Americans support efforts to strengthen our voting process, including 71% of Democrats and 95% of Republicans. This bill is essential in preserving the integrity of our nation's elections and that is why I was proud to support it."
