The NXAI team headed by AI pioneer Sepp Hochreiter was presented with the State Award for Innovation in recognition of their work.
The NXAI, opens an external URL in a new window team led by Sepp Hochreiter (head of the Institute for Machine Learning) won first place in this contest recognizing the most innovative research establishments. The award honored the team's work on the new AI architecture xLSTM, which proceses text faster and more precisely than previous systems.
Second place in the same category went to another JKU project: a simulator that realistically replicates aneurysm surgery. The Software Competence Center Hagenberg was also recognized for their efforts to increase the reliability and transparency of AI systems.
