The National Assembly created a temporary committee to establish facts and circumstances regarding the activities of George and Alexander Soros and their foundations on the territory of Bulgaria, financing Bulgarian individuals and legal entities and non-governmental organizations, as well as to establish their connections with political parties, magistrates, educational institutions, media, business structures and state authorities. The draft decision was submitted by members of parliament from the parliamentary group "MRF - New Beginning".
Parliament decided that the committee would consist of 17 Members of Parliament, of which five from GERB-UDF, three from "We Continue the Change-Democratic Bulgaria", two from "Rivival" and two from "MRF-New Beginning", as well as one representative each from "BSP-United Left", "Alliance for Rights and Freedoms", "There is Such a People", "Morals, Unity, Honour" and "Greatness".
Alexander Ivanov, Hristo Gadzhev, Toma Bikov, Lyuben Dilov and Manoil Manev from GERB-UDS, Yavor Bozhankov, Svilen Trifonov and Bogdan Bogdanov from "We Continue the Change-Democratic Bulgaria", Yordan Tsonev and Stanislav Anastasov from "MRF-New Beginning" were elected as members of the committee. The committee includes Angel Yanchev and Daniel Prodanov from "Revival", from "Alliance for Rights and Freedoms" - Jeyhan Ibryamov, from "BSP-United Left" - Atanas Atanasov, from "There is Such a People" - Alexander Rashev, from "Morals, Unity, Honour" - Krasimir Manov and from "Greatness" - Krasimira Katincharova.
The committee will work for three months, after which it will issue a report.
