Dr. Kristin Carvalho, President and Chief Executive Officer of MutualOne Bank, announced the MutualOne Bank Charitable Foundation has directed over $60,000 to local social service organizations.
The Massachusetts Alliance for Portuguese Speakers received a $10,000 grant to provide services including housing assistance, health insurance enrollment, public benefits, and pathways to U.S. citizenship to low- and extremely low-income Portuguese-speaking immigrants in Framingham, Natick, and the surrounding region.
Three additional organizations received $10,000 grants. The League School for Autism will use its grant to build a sensory garden for meaningful engagement for students with autism; Bethany Hill Place will support adult educational programming; and Second Step Inc. will fund two programs focused on services for domestic violence survivors.
Non-profits receiving grants of $5,000 included Samaritans, Inc., to fund its Youth Suicide Prevention and Intervention Services in the MetroWest; Path for Adaptive Opportunities to support Camp Arrowhead Therapeutic Recreation Program for children and adults with emotional, physical, and intellectual challenges; Mass 2-1-1 to help provide transportation assistance for low- and moderate-income individuals and families; and Community Day Center of Waltham.
"We are proud to support organizations that provide services to individuals in need," said Carvalho. "These organizations play a vital role in strengthening our communities."
