$156 million facility improves traveler convenience, reduces traffic, and cuts emissions.

Turner joined Gerald R. Ford International Airport Authority, rental car partners, and community leaders to celebrate the ribbon cutting of Michigan's first Consolidated Rental Car Facility, a $156 million investment designed to enhance the traveler experience while improving airport operations and sustainability.

The ConRAC includes three primary components: a four-level customer service building, a ready-return garage with more than 1,000 rental car parking spaces, and a three-story Quick Turnaround Facility. The Quick Turnaround Facility includes 32 fueling and vacuum stations and eight car wash tunnels on multiple floors, allowing rental car partners to clean, inspect, refuel, and prepare vehicles more efficiently.

"The opening of the ConRAC marks an important milestone for Gerald R. Ford International Airport," said Brett Klinger, Vice President and General Manager, Turner. "This facility improves convenience for travelers, supports the airport's continued growth, and delivers meaningful operational and environmental benefits. We are proud to have partnered with the Airport Authority and the entire project team to bring this vision to life."

By consolidating rental car operations under one roof, the facility provides travelers with convenient access to multiple rental car agencies while streamlining vehicle pickup and return. The Quick Turnaround Facility is expected to reduce vehicle miles traveled by approximately three miles per vehicle refresh, or 600,000 miles annually, helping reduce emissions, congestion, and fuel use. Up to 90 percent of water used for the ConRAC car wash will be recycled, and the facility's infrastructure is designed to support future growth in electric vehicles.
