FAU Climbs in U.S News and World Report's 2026 Online Rankings

Florida Atlantic University's rose in several online programs in the nation for the 2026 "Best Online Programs" rankings by U.S. News & World Report.

Florida Atlantic University's online bachelor's program catapulted 46 spots to No. 77 from No. 123 in the nation for the 2026 "Best Online Programs" rankings by U.S. News & World Report.

In addition, Florida Atlantic's online master's in education moved up to No. 36, up from No. 46 in last year's rankings, while the online bachelor's program for veterans moved up 20 spots to No. 47 from No. 67 after being ranked for the first time just last year.

"Florida Atlantic's continued rise in the online rankings reflects our focus on high academic standards, strong partnerships, and a dynamic approach to technology in support of student success," said FAU President Adam Hasner. "As a pioneer in distance learning, we remain committed to delivering online programs that meet the needs of today's learners while expanding opportunity through innovation."

Florida Atlantic's online master's in nursing programs also climbed 13 spots to No. 85 from No. 98 in 2025.

Fully online undergraduate programs are offered in FAU's Dorothy F. Schmidt College of Arts and Letters, College of Business, College of Social Work and Criminal Justice, College of Engineering and Computer Science, Christine E. Lynn College of Nursing and Charles E. Schmidt College of Science.

Now in its 16th year, the U.S. News & World Report "Best Online Programs" list is a resource for students and working adults who are increasingly seeking online education programs for degree completion and career advancement. Prospective students can use the searchable directory to explore factors such as tuition, program offerings and online services offered to enrolled students.

The 2026 Best Online Programs methodologies are based on several factors, including engagement, faculty credentials and training, expert opinion and services and technologies provided. Only degree-granting programs that are offered predominantly online by regionally accredited institutions were considered.
