Partial Solar Eclipse Viewing Party at the Museum of Natural History and Planetarium

Get ready to look up! FREE Partial Solar Eclipse Viewing Party at the Museum of Natural History and Planetarium in Roger Williams Park on Wednesday, August 12! Safely watch the partial solar eclipse outdoors with us using eclipse glasses and other safe viewing methods. The partial eclipse begins at 1:03pm, reaches its maximum at 1:55pm, and ends at 2:45pm.

Want to see what's happening beyond Rhode Island? Head inside the Museum to watch a live NASA TV stream of the eclipse and discover more about this amazing celestial event. Museum admission is free during the watch party.

Make the most of your eclipse day with a trip to see a planetarium show! Can't make it to see a planetarium show on August 12? No worries! Planetarium shows are offered daily at 1pm through September 6.

Explore our night sky. Take a tour of the skies and discover the constellations, planets, nebulae and other stunning night sky objects that can be seen in the night sky. Video imagery will bring viewers up close to black holes, star-forming nebulae and more, showing discoveries in astrophysics while instilling a sense of wonder about our universe. (General Audience)
