UNION CITY, CA, September 2, 2025 - The community is invited to the Heritage Oak Park Ribbon Cutting Celebration on Friday, September 5 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, marking the official reopening of this neighborhood park's beloved play area. The long-awaited replacement play structure was made possible through the generous support of the Fremont Bank Foundation.
This special event will include brief remarks from City officials and community partners, light refreshments, and an opportunity for families and children to be among the first to enjoy the brand-new, thoughtfully designed play structure for kids ages 2-5. "The replacement of the original play area has been highly anticipated by the community, and this reopening marks a meaningful investment in outdoor recreation and neighborhood gathering spaces," said Mayor Gary Singh. "Fremont Bank Foundation's commitment to community enrichment continues to make a lasting impact throughout the region, and here in Union City."
"Fremont Bank Foundation looks for opportunities to support our Bay Area youth to be productive and healthy as they grow into young adults," said Julie Zhu, Vice President, Nonprofit Group, Fremont Bank. "The City of Union City's Heritage Oak Play Structure offers children ways to get exercise, be creative, and have fun. Fostering these connections while building community between people with shared interests and goals is what our Foundation does best - today and tomorrow."
Come celebrate this exciting new chapter for Heritage Oak Park and enjoy a morning of community connection, play, and fun!
