Skills power growth-and better skills can unlock better jobs across Eastern and Southern Africa.
The World Bank's Skills for Economic Transformation and Jobs Program (SET4Jobs) will help 18 million young people gain better education and industry-relevant skills by 2034. The program will connect training more closely to employers and high-growth value chains, including energy, agriculture, health, infrastructure, water, and digital services.
Through stronger secondary, technical, and university programs; on-the-job training; entrepreneurship support; digitalization; and regional skills mobility, SET4Jobs aims to raise productivity, improve incomes, and expand access to more and better jobs.
The program will help turn skills systems into engines of competitiveness, economic transformation, and inclusive growth.
