Sydney, Australia, September 1, 2026 - Barracuda Networks, Inc., the cyber resilience platform leader making security easy for all size business, today announced that it will be the Official Partner of Team Australia in the inaugural Airspeeder International Series. Barracuda will support the Australian entry in the world's first electric flying car racing championship for the 2026 season.
Airspeeder was founded at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in 2019. It hosts races for AI-powered electric flying cars (eVTOLs), known as speeders. Each race doubles as a live flight test, with the telemetry fuelling the development of propulsion, control and safety systems both in and beyond the sport.
"We are proud to be supporting Airspeeder Team Australia in the very first Airspeeder International Series Campaign," said Dan McLean, Country Manager ANZ at Barracuda Networks. "There is a natural fit with Barracuda. Innovation, frontier engineering and vital telemetry are all areas that matter to cybersecurity as much as to Airspeeder and we are proud to stand behind it."
The announcement follows Airspeeder Team Australia's debut at The Bend Motorsport Park in April 2026, where the team flew competitive demonstrations to mark the launch of the Airspeeder International Series. Team Australia flies the Mk3C, a speeder designed and built in Adelaide, South Australia.
"Modern air sport is technically advanced and data heavy and Barracuda partnership brings enormous value to Airspeeder Team Australia's racing program. We welcome their commitment to Australia and a team underpinned by the best of Australian industry," said Matt Pearson, Co-founder and CEO, Airspeeder.
As Official Partner, Barracuda branding will feature on the Team Australia speeder and team uniforms throughout the 2026 season. Barracuda will also host customers and partners at race events and team facilities during the year.
The Airspeeder International Series features national teams competing with electric flying racecraft. The event is supported by universities, industry, and technology partners across each nation's advanced manufacturing and aerospace sectors. The first race will be held in Adelaide in November 2026.
