House Study Committee on Pharmacy Benefits Managers and Consumer Access to Prescription Medication to Hold First Meeting at State Capitol

ATLANTA - The House Study Committee on Pharmacy Benefits Managers and Consumer Access to Prescription Medications, chaired by State Representative Ron Stephens (R-Savannah), will hold its first meeting on Thursday, July 23, 2026, at 9 a.m. in room 403 of the Georgia State Capitol.

During the meeting, study committee members will discuss topics including the federal 340B Drug Pricing Program and how it may help to support rural hospitals and expand access to services. Study committee members will also receive an overview of pharmacy benefits managers, including their true savings, transparency, rebate practices and related issues.

Created by House Resolution 948, the House Study Committee on Pharmacy Benefits Managers and Consumer Access to Prescription Medications will study and evaluate the policies and practices of pharmacy benefits managers and rising drug costs.
