The Norman Police Department (NPD) has arrested 30-year-old Brad Jones in connection with a fatal collision that occurred Sept. 29, in the 3600 block of Classen Boulevard.
Preliminary investigation and video evidence indicate that a small sedan was traveling southbound on Classen Boulevard when it turned eastbound, crossing into the path of a northbound pickup truck. The truck collided with the sedan.
The sedan was occupied by Jones and a juvenile male. The juvenile was pronounced dead at the scene. Jones sustained injuries and was transported to a local hospital. The pickup truck was occupied by one adult male, who reported minor injuries at the time of the collision but declined medical treatment at the scene.
On Oct. 7, charges were filed with the Cleveland County District Attorney's Office, and an arrest warrant was issued for Jones. Jones was arrested and booked into the Cleveland County Detention Center on a charge of murder in the second degree.
The collision remains under investigation by the NPD/OUPD Collision Investigation and Reconstruction Team.
