HANNIBAL - Weather permitting, Missouri Route 47 in Warrenton will close at the Interstate 70 interchange beginning at 7 p.m. on March 27 to allow construction to begin on the replacement of the Route 47 bridge over I-70. During the closure, motorists needing to cross I-70 should follow the posted detours to the interchanges at Route MM/Warrenton Boulevard (Exit 191) or Wildcat Drive in Wright City (Exit 199).
To maintain safe pedestrian access across I-70 throughout the project, temporary transportation assistance will be available for residents utilizing Uber or OATS Transit services.
Uber riders may receive a 50 percent discount on trips associated with the detour by visiting https://r.uber.com/47bridge and entering the voucher code "47bridge."
OATS Transit services is also available in Warrenton on Tuesdays and Thursdays between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. Reservations are required and may be scheduled by calling 1-800-654-6287.
MoDOT appreciates the public's patience and cooperation as crews work to improve the roadway infrastructure and enhance long-term safety.
This work is part of the Improve I-70 Warrenton to Wentzville Project covering the eastern portion of I-70. It was awarded in November 2024. Construction is tentatively set to take place 2025-2028.
Missouri's FY2024 budget, approved through the state legislative process and signed into law by the governor, provides $2.8 billion in General Revenue to build a third lane of I-70 across the state. The program will plan, design, construct, reconstruct, rehabilitate, and add a third lane in each direction on nearly 200 miles of I-70, from Blue Springs to Wentzville.
