Taft Continues Growth in Denver, Adds Business Attorney

Megan McCulloch has joined Taft's Business practice group in Denver, underscoring the firm's deep commitment to the region.

McCulloch focuses her practice on corporate and commercial law, securities, and mergers and acquisitions. She guides clients through complex reorganizations, private placements, and compliance matters.

"I was immediately drawn to corporate law, even back in law school," said McCulloch. "The practice offers flexibility and creativity, where you can design solutions that work for everyone. I partner closely with clients to understand their goals and help them succeed. It's about making things happen and building something together."

Prior to joining Taft, McCulloch founded her own law firm and worked with Denver-area firms on corporate formation, governance, and securities. Additionally, she practiced at a boutique firm in Castle Rock, where she advised sponsors and fund managers and negotiated operating agreements for sophisticated investment structures.

McCulloch also has extensive military experience, beginning her career in the U.S. Army as an Arabic cryptologic linguist, where she graduated at the top of her class at the Defense Language Institute. After active duty, she joined the Colorado Army National Guard as a judge advocate, advising commanders and providing legal assistance to soldiers-a role in which she currently serves.

"Megan's background of service in the law and the military makes her a fantastic addition to our team," said Bill Peffer, Taft's Business practice group chair for the Mountain West. "She listens, understands what matters most to clients and then finds creative ways to make deals work. That combination of creativity and practical insight is exactly what our clients expect from Taft."

"I'm excited to be at Taft and continue to expand my practice here," said McCulloch. "When I started thinking about the next step in my career, I realized I wanted to do more and keep learning. Taft stood out because of its collaborative culture and the opportunities to grow. I also deeply appreciate that Taft values veterans. My military service is an important part of who I am, and I'm grateful to be part of a team that respects that."

McCulloch earned her J.D. from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law, where she served in several leadership positions, including president of the Student Veterans Group and senior staff editor for the Denver Water Law Review. With a deep educational background, she also received her B.A. in Humanities, A.A. in Arabic Language, and M.P.S. in Security and Safety Leadership.
