ICE arrests criminal illegal alien, sexual predator with final order of removal in New York

WASHINGTON - ICE Buffalo arrested Jose Mendoza, a sexual predator from El Salvador, on Jan. 5. Mendoza has been convicted of felony criminal sexual acts, sexual abuse and family neglect and was sentenced to 25 years in prison.

"This criminal illegal alien has a final removal order from April 28, 2006," said ICE Director Todd M. Lyons. "An immigration judge has already ordered him to leave the country, so we arrested him and will process him for removal from our country. When we say we're arresting the worst of the worst, we're talking about criminal illegal aliens with histories that show they have no regard for the law, for their communities or this nation."

Mendoza illegally entered the United States at an unknown location on an unknown date. He was convicted of a felony criminal sexual act and sexual abuse and sentenced to prison on Feb. 2, 2005. ICE arrested him Jan. 5 upon his release from New York's Woodbourne Correctional Facility.

He's currently in ICE custody pending removal.
