City to host food drive to support CommUnity Crisis Services & Food Bank

The City of Iowa City is launching a food drive to support the CommUnity Crisis Services & Food Bank starting Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2025. This year's food drive is critical as demand at local food banks is expected to rise sharply this season, so let's work together to help our neighbors.

Drop-off locations for food will be located at the following City facilities:

  • Animal Care and Adoption Center, 3910 Napoleon Lane
  • City Hall Front Lobby, 410 E. Washington Street
  • Fire Station 2, 301 Emerald Street
  • Fire Station 4, 2008 N. Dubuque Street
  • Iowa City Landfill and Recycling Center, 3900 Hebl Avenue
  • Iowa City Municipal Airport, 1801 S. Riverside Drive
  • Iowa City Public Library, 123 S. Linn Street
  • Iowa City Streets Division, 1200 S. Riverside Drive
  • Mercer Aquatic Center, 2701 Bradford Drive
  • Robert A. Lee Recreation Center, 220 S. Gilbert Street

Signage at each location will include a QR code for those interested in making a financial donation.

The new food drive comes during increased uncertainty surrounding the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, or SNAP.

All donations received will be delivered directly to CommUnity Crisis Services & Food Bank.
