JJC, Western Governors University Launch Business Scholarship Partnership

May 21, 2026

Joliet Junior College (JJC) has announced a new partnership with Western Governors University (WGU) to expand transfer opportunities and provide scholarship support for students pursuing business degrees.

As part of the agreement, WGU has provided a one-time gift of $10,000 to the JJC Foundation to support JJC graduates who enroll in WGU bachelor's degree programs within the school of business. Eligible programs include accounting, business management, finance, marketing and several more.

The funds will be awarded as $1,000 scholarships through the Foundation's standard scholarship process beginning in spring 2027 until fully distributed.

"This partnership reflects our commitment to helping students continue their education and achieve their long-term goals," said Amanda Quinn, executive director of the JJC Foundation. "We are proud to support this effort to expand access to affordable pathways beyond JJC."

JJC's transfer team said the agreement strengthens an already growing network of partnerships designed to support student success beyond graduation.

"Strong partnerships like this one create clear and flexible pathways for our students," said Diane Urbanczyk, JJC's manager of university partnerships. "We are focused on building relationships that open doors and help students move forward with confidence."

Together, JJC and WGU aim to reduce financial barriers and create new opportunities for students to advance their education and careers. Information about scholarships available at JJC and the application process can be found on the JJC Foundation scholarships page.
