CARSON CITY, Nev. - Governor Joe Lombardo announced today that more than 100,000 jobs have been created in Nevada from the start of his administration. Newly released data from the Nevada Department of Employment, Training, and Rehabilitation (DETR) shows the seasonally adjusted total number of nonfarm jobs in Nevada is 1,614,100, representing an increase of 100,800 jobs from the December 2022 numbers.
"When I took office, I made a commitment to create more opportunities for Nevada families and build a diverse economy that works for more people than ever before," said Governor Lombardo. "Today, Nevada has added more than 100,000 jobs, led the nation in job growth, attracted more than $6 billion in private investment, and reached the highest employment levels in state history. These results didn't happen by accident-they are the product of lowering barriers to growth, reducing taxes, and making Nevada one of the best places in America to start, expand, and invest in a business. We're proud of this milestone, but we're just getting started."
Despite facing challenging national trends and taking office while Nevada recovered from a global pandemic, the Lombardo administration has positioned Nevada as one of the best states in the nation to start and grow a business. UNLV's Center for Business and Economic Research has Nevada leading the nation in post-pandemic small business growth and Wallethub ranked Nevada as the 7th-best state to start a business in 2025.
"Nevada is gaining national attention, consistently ranking as one of the best states for business while growing wages for hardworking Nevadans," continued Governor Lombardo. "More and more companies are looking to Nevada to build and expand because they know our state values innovation, rewards investment, and welcomes opportunity. We will continue creating the conditions for businesses to succeed, jobs to grow, and families to thrive so that Nevada remains the premier destination for economic growth and prosperity for generations to come."
