Prime Minister Rossen Jeliazkov arrived in Copenhagen to attend the Informal Meeting of the European Council. He was welcomed in person by his Danish counterpart Mette Frederiksen.
The Heads of State or Government of the European Union member states are expected to discuss the military shape of the EU and Ukraine in the context of the rising number of incidents caused by violations of the airspace of some member states. The focus of the meeting will be on speedier arms deliveries, joint acquisition of capabilities and support for the Eastern Flank countries and on the performance of effective political overview and coordination between and among the countries.
The leaders' discussion will also focus on the continued and additional support for Ukraine to achieve just and lasting peace. The focus is expected to be on the sustainable and predictable aspect of European assistance to Ukraine, including support for Ukraine's armed forces and continued pressure on Russia by means of, inter alia, expansion of the imposition of restrictive measures. The Meeting is expected to discuss Ukraine's progress towards European integration.
