The fifth annual Plane Pull returns to Santa Barbara Airport (SBA) on Saturday, October 24, 2026. This annual fundraiser, presented by Alaska Airlines and supported by SBA and Atlantic Aviation, benefits Alpha Resource Center and their mission to serve individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
The Plane Pull is an extreme team challenge where teams of 10 to 25 compete in a tug-of-war-style competition with an Alaska Airlines 737 weighing more than 140,000 pounds. Your team will pull the airplane 20 feet; the fastest time in each division will be crowned division champion! Prizes will be awarded to the winning team of each division, the team that raises the most money, and the individual who raises the most money.
Anyone is welcome to participate, teams will compete in one of four divisions: Open Division, School Division, Disability Division, or Public Safety Division (includes law enforcement, firefighters, EMTs, DOC, and military personnel). Each individual team member must raise $100 to compete ($50 for the School and Disability divisions).
All Plane Pull activities will take place on the airfield at Atlantic Aviation at 1503 Cook Place. Spectators are invited to attend the event free of charge to watch the competition and enjoy activities in the festival area.
